Nuclear power plants produce about 20 percent of the nation’s power and is this proportion is projected to grow in the coming years. The Moose Creek installation has been in operation since 1987 and 6,500 people live within a 10-mile radius of the site.

If you expect you have been exposed to nuclear radiation:

• Change clothes and shoes.
• Put exposed clothing in a plastic bag.
• Seal the bag and place it out of the way.
• Take a thorough shower.
